Cameroon Dancing Shield (specifically originating from the Bamileke or Bamoun peoples of the Grassfields region in Cameroon

The features deeply incised parallel lines filled with constrasting black and white pigments. The white is traditionaly created using natural kaolin clay. They are hand carved out of a single, soild piece of local hardwood (often hardwood like Kola or light sacred woods. featuring a subtle convex dome and an integrated handle carved directly out of the back.
